Unlike the later, slicker hitmakers they became (with "My Girl, Gone, Gone, Gone," "Baby Blue," and "California Girl"), this is a fiery young band making its debut. The reflective "Rain-O" aside, the strongest cuts by the Vancouver quartet are the rave-ups "Sundown" and "Chain Train," which open and close the album. The flute and sax work of Claire Lawrence distances the band from the competition as well as from a Northwest Native American music influence. (Mark Allan in AllMusic)
