HERE COMES THE SUN (Harrison)
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
and I say it's all right
Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
and I say it's all right
Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
and I say it's all right
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
and I say it's all right
It's all right

Let's stop kidding ourselves about the importance of "Abbey Road." It is nothing more than a Beatles' reunion album made before the rest of us knew the band had already (spiritually, at least) broken up. Don't get me wrong. As a reunion album, it has both genius and junk. But only Paul is grieving. The others don't give a shit. As for George's two preemptive masterpieces, they are unlike anything that came after for him. Indeed, I have always believed George used the album to prove he was Paul's equal in writing pop tunes. And did we need those outtakes? Even bootleggers ignored most of them. Sorry, folks, but the DREAM IS OVER! Nothing lasts forever. Nor should it. Always make way fro the new. Because of Beatles necrophilia, rock and roll has suffered enormously and left us in the hands of high-tech mediocrities. Get out your Coltrane, Ellington, Ives and Stravinsky albums. Let's start over--while there's still time for a fresh beginning.
