The Square
Set was a wonderful No 1 hit parade South African band, exported to many
countries. The group started one Autumn day in 1966. Neville Whitmill, Derek
Marks and Kieth Moffat met Nol Klinkhamer with the idea of making music
professionaly. Composition,
arrangements and rehearsals went on for 6 months before the band presented
itself to the public. "Silence is Golden", their own composition, went on the No1 within 3
months of release. "Thats What I Want" made it to no1 in South America
(both Brazil and Argentina) and Portugal in 1971/1972 respectively. The band
went on to create 4 full albums with great successes in South Africa, South
America, Portugal,
