This debut album by Mom's Apple Pie is best known for it's controversial and banned album cover. Actually the whole band is best known for that. If a band is best known for their album cover you might expect that their music isn't anything memorable because they're not remembered for it. And that's the case with Mom's Apple Pie. They play a mix of horn rock and pop rock with some psychedelic elements in some of the songs. Those damn horns ruin most of the album which is unfortunate. Apart from the horns this band sounds pretty nice. The songwriting isn't anything huge but the songs have potential. If they would have used more guitar and organ and less horns this album could have been a good one. (in RateYourMusic)
