The Rolling Stones seventh single in both the UK and the US,
this was the first to top the charts on both sides of the Atlantic (4 weeks).
It is without doubt the most famous intro in rock music, and the perfect rock riff
of the 1960s. "Satisfaction" was written in Clearwater, Florida.
Keith woke up in the middle of the night with the riff in his head and put it
down on tape. In the morning, Mick said the words "I can't get no
satisfaction". On monday 10 May, they went to Chess Studios at 1 pm and
worked until 10 pm. "Satisfaction" was among the tracks cut. Two days
later, the band went to RCA Studio in Hollywood
with engineer Dave Hassinger and reworked the song. The US edition came first, with "The Under Assistant West Coast Promotion Man" on the flip side. More than two months after, the UK edition appeared, with "The Spider And The Fly" on the B side. Now, to celebrate the 50º anniversary, a numbered limited edition was published, on 180 gram 45 rpm audiophile pressing. It was from this record that the three tracks were ripped (the files presented here, are wav files, with no quality loss). I think it's a very good sound!
