This is a very rare thing. Three years ago, my good friend Paulo sent me nineteen songs, all ripped from old vinil records, asking me to share them with Rato's friends. Unfortunetely, five of those songs were in a very lousy condition; but the remaining tracks could be heard without many noises. I've improved the sound still a little bit, using just a few filters, and finally made the front and retro covers. So, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, here you have 14 songs (six of them are italian covers from some very known hits of those years) in the voice of an obscure italian singer from the beginnings of the sixties.

Oh oh Ratinho,
You did it again!
Many thanks for the Itaaaalian muuuuusic.
Ratito,
John Foster's real name is Paolo Occhipinti, a journalist that out of the blues, found himself playing the role of a pop singer doing covers of American hit songs.
In 1964 on a festival called Al Disco per L'Estate, he presented the beautiful Amore Scusami which became an international hit and catapulted Foster's name to fame.
Other songs followed like Arriverdeci Amore Mio and Cominciamo Ad Amarci.
However, according to the legend, John Foster was never comfortable with the role of pop star and later returned to his life as a journalist.
I do not even know if he is still alive but Amore Scusami will live forever.
Hope this can be of any help,
All the best,
Mick Wilbury

You don't mention your email, so I hope you see this post again.
Thanks!
I've heard, but it seems that there are not many work to do...
They seems pretty good for me.
Only "Non Finirò D'Amarti" has "emptied" of range.
In one there is a regular noise in background, but that kind of problem cannot be eliminated.
The other appears ok, in one there is many tic toc,
I could to remove them all, but I don't believe that it is the case to do...
because this is are many but very little annoyng... If I will make this
reparation I will to know you.
Bye Rato.
Thank very much Rato, great tunes!!!
Hello Everybody, Friends All, I regret I'm reading these comments a little late, almost one year, however, if you happen to read this and are still interested, here I go: thanks to Rato for his findings about John Foster, it brought me very good memories, I have the 03 most important or at least played songs of those times, Amore scusami, Arrivederci amore mio and Cominciamo ad amarci in casseette tape in good condition, I'll try to download them to cd and then mp3 to share them with you. Do you have any idea where can I get the rest of the songs shown in the record. I really hope to hear from you and if you need more information about italian music, I have a friend in Mexico who wrote 02 books about Il Festival di San Remo. the phone number of his record store El Disco Recuerdo in Mexico City is 52-55-55-14-99-00.
Hoping to read more from you, Thanks again for such great music.
By the way, can you tell me how can I listen to the damaged files you mentioned?
Best regards...Javier

i spent some time in Rimini in italy as a child with my parents. My mum liked italian pop music and in the hit parade at the time was Amore scusami by john foster. It was being played everywhere we brought a copy back to uk with us and we learned it word for word, i still know it now and funny enough was singing it to my girlfriend-creep creeplol. Also Gianni Morandi was in the charts with
Giannochio da te, he was pretty amazing too, check out his video on u tube with this title song its cool.
